Toshiba UMPC revealed on fuel cells

71020Toshiba has at CES 2008 presented a very progressive and interesting product - ultra personal computer as a power source is used instead of the usual battery and fuel cell. Note that some manufacturers of mobile electronic devices have already submitted their decisions, fed by a fuel cell, and battery life of these power supplies were significantly higher than that of modern batteries - up to one month of work. However, at this point none of the devices to the commercial use is not reached.

There are currently unknown and the market prospects of the company's UMPC Toshiba - the manufacturer has not even reported on the characteristics of the device, it is known only that the device has enough power to run on Windows Vista operating system. On the front panel there are several control buttons, and multi-position joystick for cursor control, designed, apparently, to replace the computer mouse.

Introduced at CES 2008 model is powered by a fuel-cell direct methanol collapse, and the power supply is built into the device and is connected as an additional module. Unfortunately, the characteristics of the fuel cell manufacturer prefers to remain silent. Thus, the exhibit presented only illustrates the fact that the manufacturer continues to work in this direction without telling yet about specific successes.
